Lutheran church buildings and involvement in the community in and around Lira.
One project for the people of Akia is to have the local nursery grow and provde fruit trees to help feed the community. They have already named aligned the different tree species to the names of the mission team, i.e. passion fruit (Nathan); pine trees (Stephanie); mango (Edna); jackfruit (Rod); guava (Jackie); orange (Louise); avocado (Eric); and pawpaw (Tony).
The congregation at St. Luke's have wonderful singing voices, perfect pitch and harmony so we donated a set of musical instruments two days befroe we left and by the time we met at the church to say goodbye they had mastered the instruments.
